Metric’s ‘Art of Doubt’ tour presented by Live Nation made a stop at Ottawa’s TD Place on its 27 city run with July Talk.
July Talk was a headline opening act for Metric, to a packed house in TD Place had the crowd on their feet and singing along thanks to the amazing and wildly unique voices of both Leah Fay and Peter Dreimanis. An on stage set that reflects a black and white scene perfectly, along with the bright white lighting to go with it. As most fans know this is the type of ‘theme’ July Talk likes to stick to, from their shows to social media branding.
It was not hard to tell that a large majority of the crowd was their to see July Talk, with many die hard fans on a singalong to each and every song they played, even having a family in the front row with custom made t-shirts that read ‘July Talk’ with a mix of white and black shirts.
Metric was welcomed with open arms shortly after July Talk left the stage. Leading the way with her vocals was Emilie Haines singing to ‘Dead Disco’ and ‘Twilight Galaxy’ with loud and energetic Ottawa crowd for backup vocals.
Metric played an extensive 19 song set-list, which included ending the evening with a 5 song encore with hits such as ‘Dark Saturday’, ‘Monster Hospital’, ‘Black Sheep’, ‘Help I’m Alive’ and ‘Now or Never Now’.
